Goosebumps, The Haunted Mask FAN ART

Goosebumps, The Haunted Mask FAN ART

One of my earliest influences as an artist was the 90s tv show and book series Goosebumps by R.L. Stine. Back then I could barely speak, write, and understand english but the book covers and scenes from the tv show were enough to ignite my wildfire of an imagination, I was obsessed. The Haunted Mask episode was by far the most memorable for me growing up. For me there is just some unexplainable fascination with the idea of a living mask that latches on the skin, possessing the wearer and changing their personality. Not to mention the mysterious man who created the haunted masks was a damaged person to begin with. The idea of a creation being a reflection of the creator is a concept that is deeply rooted in me to this day. I’m divinely thankful for my late grandpa whom encouraged me to be myself and allowed me to watch and absorb such shows and movies on tv without being close minded and strict like some people out there. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be the artist that I am today. Here is my interpretation of The Haunted Mask loosely based off of the original book cover and tv show. It’s a challenge to design something new that is based on something without straying too far from the original look and feel.
